Antalya Welcomes Nearly 12.5 Million Overseas Visitors

Antalya received 12.48 million international visitors during the first nine months of 2026, remaining a major destination for Türkiye’s tourism industry. The figure was 5.6 per cent below the same period a year earlier. A Demirören News Agency report cited figures from the Antalya Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism.

Including domestic travellers, arrivals reached 13.33 million between January and September. September alone brought 2.19 million overseas visitors, down 3.5 per cent year on year. The total for that month, including domestic travel, was 2.3 million.

Russia remained the largest overseas market, supplying nearly 3.3 million visitors and accounting for 26.6 per cent of international arrivals. Russian visitor numbers increased 0.6 per cent over nine months. Arrivals from Uzbekistan rose 49 per cent to 61,511, while Hungary recorded growth of 12.8 per cent to 137,454.

Other established markets weakened, with German arrivals down 6.2 per cent to about 2.53 million and UK arrivals falling 11.9 per cent to 1.14 million. July, August and September together accounted for around 58 per cent of international visitors. August was the busiest month, recording 2.52 million arrivals. Although some markets expanded, their gains did not fully offset the decline in arrivals from other countries.
