His Royal Highness Paduka Seri Sultan of Perak Darul Ridzuan Launched The Latest Book Written By Ramli Ngah Talib

KUALA LUMPUR, 11 Jun - His Royal Highness Paduka Seri Sultan of Perak Darul Ridzuan, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah Al-Maghfur-Lah today launched the latest book written by Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri (Dr.) Ramli Ngah Talib titled The Malays: Pathfinders and Trailblazers published by the Malaysian Institute of Translation & Books in conjunction with Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair (KLIBF) 2022.

The Malays: Pathfinders and Trailblazers is about a historiographical narrative of Malay race according to Ibnu Khaldun theory and methodology which was been presented in a great way and maybe is unknown by everyone. It also contains belief and the magnificent characteristics of a great race with a variety of heritages in languages and cultures that remain until today. The discussion not only focused on the historiographical narrative but also covered the worldview or weltanchauung of Malay race, its cultures, traditions and great achievements in every aspect of civilization. As a race of seafarer and continents connector, they were expert in marine sciences such as astronomy and naval architecture. They were also had expertise in weaponry and war to resist the piracy and enemies in the sea.

Following the theory and historiography methodology of Ibnu Khaldun, this book just not only narrated the chronological events and important achievements, but also reviewed and interpreted the history objectively without any factors such as sentiments and emotions also bias like the other historians did. Readers will be able to go through the time travel adventure and magnificent events of the Malay and its heritages until today’s generation such as the beauty of its language and literature also norms full of politeness and gracious which their uniqueness can be felt in ‘pantun’ which is the special identity for this race.

The 520 pages book also not only the magnum opus in Malay history that covered at the centre of its civilization which were Srivijaya and Melaka but this book also tried to explain the Malay history in the other part of the Malay Archipelago such as in the peninsular, part of Indonesia, Philippines and also Champa. At the rest of the word such as Malay diaspora in Sri Lanka, South Africa and Madagascar also explained in the book.

The Malays: Pathfinders and Trailblazers book had been published in two version; the popular edition and luxury edition with RM150.00 for popular edition and RM250.00 for luxury edition.
