Saudi Arabia ranked first among G20 countries in the 2025 Safety Index, according to data from the UN Sustainable Development Goals indicators database. The results were released by the Kingdom’s General Authority for Statistics on June 29, 2026. The ranking reflects residents’ reported sense of safety in their neighborhoods.
The findings showed that 97.7 percent of people in Saudi Arabia feel safe walking alone at night near their homes. The data also showed that 94.9 percent of women, 97 percent of Saudi citizens, and 97.2 percent of people aged 60 to 64 reported feeling safe walking alone at night in residential areas.
The Saudi Press Agency said the results point to the work of public agencies in maintaining high safety standards across the country. The figures place Saudi Arabia at the top of the G20 list for this safety measure.
